Day Twenty-Two: Confessions of the Heart

Day Twenty-two of Thirty Days of Prayers from the Psalms
Confessions of the Heart
Psalms 28, 29, 31, 139

Hear my cry for mercy as I call to you for help, as I lift up my hands toward your Most
Holy Place. Psalm 28:2

Investigate my life, O God. I am an open book to you. You watch me grow through all

stages of my life. I ask that you come close to me today and hear my prayers.

I tell you what I need, calling out for help and lifting my arms toward

your inner sanctum. I am asking you to carry me like a good shepherd carries his

sheep. I run to you, God, for dear life. Free me from the traps I so easily fall in. If I put

my life in your hands, you do not drop me, you never let me down. I ask for your

kindness when I feel hollow inside. My troubles can wear me out. Desperately, I throw

myself on you. You are my God. Hour by hour, I place my days in your hands. You warm

me with your smile, you save me because you love me. Help me to be brave, to be

strong, and not to give up.

[What do you need to specifically confess to the Lord today?]

Day Twenty-One: Thankfulness

Day Twenty-one of Thirty Days of Prayers from the Psalms
Thankfulness
Psalms 136, 147

Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good. His love endures forever. Psalm 136:1

Heavenly Father, you deserve all my thanks this day. You are the King above all kings, nations, and leaders.

Your love never quits.

You are the miracle working God whose skill formed the cosmos.

Your love never quits.

You made the sun watch over the day and the moon and stars are guardians of the night.

Your love never quits.

Defender against evil, and supplier of daily bread, you are my life sustainer.

Your love never quits.

You rebuild broken lives and bandage wounds.

Your love never quits.

[Recite to God now what good he has done in your life. Follow each act of God with “Your love never quits.”]

God you have always been there for me, remembering me when I was down and taking

care of every need. I give thanks and praise for your holy name now and forever.

I thank you, Father. You do it all.

Your love never quits.

Day Twenty: Praising Him

Day Twenty of Thirty Days of Prayers from the Psalms
Praising Him
Psalms 112, 113, 115, 145, 147

Blessed is the man who fears the Lord, who finds great delight in his commands. Psalm
112:1

Father, I lift your name high in praise and adoration. Magnificent are you, Lord. There

are no boundaries to your greatness. You are all mercy and grace, not quick to anger

but rich in love. All that you have created blesses your holy name. You keep every one

of your promises, lavishing your favor on us all. Everything you do is right. The

trademark on all your work is love. You are higher than anything and anyone, out-

shining everything I see in the skies. Your generosity never runs dry. Your sunrise

always breaks through my darkness. My heart is ready, my spirit firm, trusting in you.

[List what you are thankful for today.]

My blessings are not for my sake, but for your name, be the glory. On account of your

merciful love and faithful ways, I am blessed.

I pray that all my loved ones are covered with that same blessings and protection.

[Pray for loved ones by name.]

With limitless strength, you put me back on my feet time after time. This praise is from

the one who loves you, God, now and forever. Hallelujah.

Day Nineteen: Confessions of the Heart

Day Nineteen of Thirty Days of Prayers from the Psalms
Confessions of the Heart
Psalms 116, 118, 119

Be at rest once more, O my soul, for the Lord has been good to you. Psalm 116:7

Father God, I am laying out my case before you. I am up against a wall, and I do not

know which way to turn. Please God, I ask you to save me. I feel at the end of my rope.

[Confess what is specifically on your heart.] I pray with your help that I can complete

what you have asked me to do. Father, with you by my side, I am not afraid, for your

love never quits. When I feel like I am on the edge, ready to fall, you grab hold of me

with the strength of your right hand. Help me to stay on course, walking steadily on the

road you reveal to me. You have prescribed the right way to live. Help me stay on that

course so I may never have any regrets. Thank you for your word which speaks straight

from your heart to mine. I pray for your continued guidance to do what you tell me to do.

And I will never walk alone.
[Pray for specific guidance for this day.]

I waited patiently for the Lord; he turned to me and heard my cry. Psalm 40:1

Heavenly Father, thank you for giving me this day, for hearing my prayers. When I wait

patiently for you to help me, you turn to me, lifting me up and setting my feet on the path

I should walk. Father, you give me blessings upon blessings.

[Recite your blessings from the Lord.]

Thank you for your presence in my life. You are my source of joy, security, and

salvation. You are my defender and guide forever. I donʼt have to fear when trouble

comes, for you are with me. You desire complete honesty from me when I pray, and

when I give you thanks with all my heart, it honors you. Thank you, Lord, that I am

considered precious in your eyes. My true happiness is found walking in the path of

your commands. So I walk in the freedom you give and share this joy with others. When

I ponder the direction of my life, I turn to you for answers, and you give me good

Psalms 17, 18, 19, 22, 24, 25, 29

The Lord is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take
refuge. He is my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold. Psalm 18:2

May the God of my salvation be exalted. You live today, rescuing and guiding us with
